South Korean actor Song Jae Lim, recognized for his significant role in the K-drama The Moon Embracing the Sun, was discovered deceased on Tuesday at his residence in Seoul.
At the age of 39, Song began his professional journey as a model and gained fame through the historical drama in 2012, subsequently appearing in various television series and variety shows.
Reports indicate that a note was located within the apartment, and authorities have stated that there is no indication of foul play.
His passing has reignited discussions regarding the considerable pressures experienced by individuals in South Korea’s entertainment sector.
Tributes from fellow South Korean celebrities have poured in following the announcement of Song’s death.
Actor Yoo Sun, who collaborated with Song in the 2016 series Our Gap Soon, shared a photograph of them together on Instagram, expressing, “It’s too sad, it hurts so much… May you find peace and rest.”
Another actor, Park Ho San, remarked in an Instagram post: “Since you were always so cheerful, it’s hard to believe [the news].”
