Jake Paul and Mike Tyson are set to clash in Texas today, November 15. Regardless of the outcome, both fighters will face suspensions following the match.

This highly anticipated bout has generated significant excitement among boxing enthusiasts, who have eagerly awaited the moment when YouTuber Paul would step into the ring against the seasoned boxer Tyson.

The fight will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and will be available for streaming on Netflix for audiences worldwide.

In the lead-up to the event, both fighters have engaged in provocative exchanges, with Paul controversially stating that Tyson “must die,” while Tyson has asserted that he feels “neither intimidated nor afraid” of Paul.

While the victor remains to be determined, it is certain that both boxers will be sidelined after their encounter. This mandatory suspension is mandated by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, which is overseeing the event in Arlington.

Regardless of the fight’s outcome, both Tyson and Paul will be required to take a minimum rest period of seven days. Additional rest days will be added based on the number of rounds contested, with three days allocated for each round.

Given that the match is scheduled for eight rounds, this could result in a maximum suspension of 24 days for both fighters. Furthermore, if either competitor loses by technical knockout, they will face a minimum suspension of 30 days, while a knockout loss will necessitate a minimum 60-day suspension.

Both Tyson and Paul have the option to appeal their suspensions, as outlined in the department’s regulations: “Medical disqualification of a contestant is for their own safety and may be made at the recommendation of the examining physician or TDLR. A contestant who disagrees with a medical disqualification, medical suspension, or rest period set at the discretion of a ringside physician or a disqualification or suspension set by the department may request a hearing to demonstrate proof of fitness.”

However, given the extensive preparation that has gone into this fight, it is improbable that either Paul or Tyson will pursue an appeal.
