Mariah Carey’s Christmas wax figure is the most realistic representation to date

Mariah Carey, renowned as the queen of Christmas, has had her legacy immortalized in wax.

On Sunday, November 3, the 55-year-old singer visited Madame Tussauds in New York City for the unveiling of her newly created wax figure, designed specifically for the festive season. The likeness is remarkably accurate.

In the images, Carey is seen posing in the same manner as her wax counterpart, holding an ornament while seated on a park bench, adorned in a dazzling floor-length black gown.

Conversely, the wax figure is dressed in a shimmering red gown, which Madame Tussauds has described as “reminiscent of Marilyn Monroe,” inspired by the outfit she wore in her 2020 Apple TV+ holiday special, Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas.

A press release from the museum indicated that the “All I Want For Christmas Is You” singer was astonished by the quality of the wax figure, exclaiming, “Oh my gosh, it’s surreal. Very good!”

This new figure is part of a seasonal holiday display within the museum’s Seasons of New York City exhibit, and the snowy backdrop behind Carey’s replica includes a tribute to her cherished Jack Russell Terriers.

Just a week prior, the singer initiated her traditional countdown to the Christmas season with a humorous sketch titled “It’s time,” showcasing her transition from Halloween festivities to holiday preparations.

Shortly after midnight on November 1, Carey posted a video on Instagram in which she embodied Morticia Addams from The Addams Family.

Dressed in her sparkling black dress, a Kay Jewelers diamond necklace, dark makeup, and a black wig, Carey danced with an individual dressed as Gomez Addams. She then playfully pushed him away, threw a knife that struck a painting behind him, and smiled at the camera as a red holiday dress appeared, marking the beginning of the countdown to Christmas. The scene concluded with her seated on a sleigh in a red fur-lined dress, surrounded by gifts.
